Ernst Haeckel (1834 – 1919)

Ernst Haeckel was a German zoologist, physician, philosopher and draftsman who published, among other things, prints of tiny single-celled organisms, the Kammerlings, in his booklet series “Art Forms in Nature”. These prints were based on more than 1000 sketches and watercolors by Haeckel. We owe him the wonderful drawings on our wine labels.
